Efteling

Kaatsheuvel, The Netherlands

Efteling is one of the most beloved and iconic theme parks in all of Europe, known for its deeply immersive storytelling, fairy-tale atmosphere, and breathtaking natural surroundings. Often described as “Disney’s best friend,” Efteling offers a unique charm that sets it apart from every other park in the world. Beginning with the famous Fairytale Forest, the park has grown into a world-class destination where every attraction is beautifully crafted and seamlessly woven into the overall theme.

Efteling’s dark ride collection is considered among the best on the planet, featuring Symbolica, Droomvlucht, Fata Morgana, and Carnaval Festival. The park continues to innovate with new attractions like the highly praised Danse Macabre, bringing fresh life to its already extraordinary lineup.

Efteling Roller Coasters

Efteling features eight roller coasters with the standout being Baron 1898, a Bolliger & Mabillard dive coaster themed around a ghostly mining operation. The ride’s immersive storyline, atmospheric appearance, and dramatic drop into a mineshaft make it one of the most memorable dive coasters in the world.

Vliegende Hollander is an impressive hybrid water coaster and dark ride, combining detailed storytelling with one of the most immersive queue lines ever created. Joris en de Draak is a dueling wooden coaster from GCI, featuring two sides, Fire and Water. Max & Moritz, a powered dueling coaster, offers a mischievous and highly themed ride experience suitable for younger guests but still fun for families, with plenty of visual gags throughout the layout.

Vogel Rok, Efteling’s indoor Vekoma coaster, remains a classic. It features a more intense layout than many expect, all wrapped inside a dramatic, pitch-black show building themed to the legend of Sinbad. Finally, Python, the park’s original looping coaster and the first multi-looping coaster in the Netherlands, was fully retracked in 2018 and now runs incredibly smooth.
